Intern in Ghana

I am Ulrik from Denmark and this fall I'm in Accra, capital of Ghana, working as an intern for Danish NGO IBIS [local pronounciation: aeh-biss]. I am writing an advocacy report about issues in communities affected by gold mining in Ghana. As a part of my job I am visiting some of these communities. On this blog I will be writing about my experiences and the people I meet.

About me

Ulrik Borch
This June I finished my bachelor degree in international business and politics in Copenhagen. For about a year I had had plans to spend some time in a country in Sub-Saharan Africa after finishing my studies, because I wanted to travel and because after travelling in South America and spending 1½ years in Canada, going to Africa was the place that gave me the most rumbles in my tummy. I have worked as a freelance journalist before, writing for university paper, cbsobserver.dk, and volunteer-based cafebabel.com.
